Hand painted figurine of a large white lion. Lions are the only animals to have a mane. It takes five years to fully develop. The larger it is, the more it intimidates intruders entering the territory defended by the lion. Lions are also the only felines to hunt in packs, mainly due to their lack of speed compared to their cheetah or leopard cousins. This task is most often the responsibility of lionesses. Joining forces, they remain on the lookout for long hours and approach discreetly from several directions, surrounding their prey and taking advantage of a moment of surprise. Thus, they can overcome large ungulates such as zebras, wildebeests, and even weakened buffaloes and elephants. Dimensions of the Lion: 24 cm x 14 cm x 7 cm.
