Pompom stamp box - Vilac

The pompon stamp box is a wooden box of 23 artistic and playful stamps which reflect the clean lines of the sculptures of the artist Pompon, a contemporary of Rodin.

With his small portable workbench, the sculptor François Pompon (1855-1933) loved walking in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. There he could observe animals and model small sketches. Back in his workshop he sculpted bears, panthers, but also dogs, chickens and rabbits, simplifying the shapes to find the very essence of each animal.

His sculptures are re-interpreted by the artist Gérard Lo Monaco, and in collaboration with the RMN and the Musée d'Orsay, Vilac pays tribute to this brilliant artist by manufacturing this box of creative stamps allowing you to reconstruct bears, panthers, dogs, etc. or to associate them with each other.
